Various Mantras, Kavachas & Their Applications

Mantras and Kavachas serve as powerful spiritual tools that protect, strengthen and uplift the mind, body and soul.

1. Remain in fast on the whole full-moon day. After being fresh by taking bath in the evening arrange a plate of offering with pulses and raw eatables (called mah-prasada) and also a flat cup of full water where five Aparajita flowers are to be put. Keeping them in proper place light an earthen lamp also with burning incense in front of them. Then you recite the Aparajita Stotra.

At last, water of the cup should be taken by all the members of the family. This will help in dispelling of all diseases from the house and happiness ushers in.

2. By taking some soil from under a tulsi plant and filling it in a small glass vessel and mixing mustard with it and then chanting twenty one times the mantras Om hring shring hung raksha raksha you may put it under the earth on a site in the north-east corner of the house, then no evil or ominous aspects of the ghosts and spirits can fall on the house.

3. Wearing blue-coloured clothes on Saturday and meditating if one chants the mantra of God Sani 1008 times, then the sufferings due to the evil influence of Sani are mitigated. The mantra of Sani is this : Om oing hring shring Saneswaraya namah.

4. On Tuesday evening lighting a new earthen lamp of ghee under the plant of Aparajita flower chant the mantra Om Aparajitaoi namah and reveal hopes of your minds. Hopes will be fulfilled.

5. When an amulet of silver filled with or put inside in it with five leaves of tulsi dried under shadow, a little quantity of white chandan and nine numbers of white mustard seeds are given to a child for wearing, the child gets rid of the habit of being suddenly frightened or being used to sudden screaming.

6. If someone puts some injurious incantations or harmful medicine under some place, that can be exposed or traced out by adhering to the following process :

At the outset, lighting an earthen lamp and burning incense and offering oblation (offering of raw fruit, banana and other eatables) to the name of Lord Siva in your house, take the southern side roots of the grass dabosa and lajuki (mimosa pudica) and mix them into one. Give this mixture in the hand of a pious man whose birth- rasi is Tula (Libra) and recite the following mantra:

Hat chal pavan-putra Hanumanar ajnai, jekhane ashe oushadh kumantra sheikhane dhar Hari Har raksha kar chal hat chal.

(Let the hand move at the orders of the son of the wind, Hanuman, to that place where the injurious incantation lies and catch it, Lord Hari and Hara will protect. Let the hand move and move.)

Uttering these words blow through the mouth for nine times, The hand then, moves to a place and stops. The place where the hand stops is the evil place. If you dig it, then you will find there the injurious things or medicine whatever it may be. Remove these to outside and put them under the earth. The evil effect will then be destroyed.

7. Incantation for enchanting of water for the purpose of neutralizing all evil spells and injurious arrows in the house :

"Hat guru pat guru Kamrupor Kamakhya mao

Tomar charan seva kari mantra pahri jao.

Amukar gharat kumantra katilo

Kujnana kumantra katilo

Om hring namah

Om hung namah

Om rakshya rakshya swaha.

Procedure for Processing Measures to get rid of the enemy :

This procedure should be applicable in cases where it is necessary for him to get rid of the troubles from the enemy. If it is applied to harm an honest man with the help of this process, the doer or applier will certainly cause his own harm.

The Process :

1. The following items are to be gathered –

(i) The dried branch of Guava plant.

(ii) Three numbers of dried chilli,

(iii) Eighteen numbers of black pepper, and

(iv) Twenty one numbers of black mustard seeds;

and then, take them together and after enchanting them with following incantations by reading, on a Tuesday evening, put them in a hole dug in the nairhit (south-western) direction and burn them. The enchanting mantra will be 'om hring hring syamangii Sarva Satrung Maraya Maraya Swaha’. Read the mantra twenty one times.

2. Wearing black clothes, feed a crow with bread (roti) made of Ata and then taking an iron-nail and reciting the following mantra, put the nail under earth in a cremation ground. The mantra for recitation is -

He smasanabashini

Satrusamharakarini

Mor satru shabamse binas kari

Mok uddhar kar.

Om hring kring hung phat swaha.

(This mantra should be recited for nine times.)

3. Using a lamp-wick (salita) brought from an east facing shop and pouring oil in a metal lamp (made of iron) go to a Kalimandir on a Saturday and light up this lamp sharp at 12 noon, reciting the following mantra :

Om hring hring syaamangi satrung maray maraya swaha.

(Recite this three times)

Different Procedures for Paja-worship for different problems

1. If a barn-owl enters in the house, performance of Vishnu homa should be done within twelve days and the priest should be presented eatable for meal and sacrificial fee.

2. If you find that a banana tree brings forth two clusters of banana fruits, or that a bilva tree contains a cluster of leaves more than three, say four or five, in the limb of a branch, then it is not auspicious. In that case, perform Graha-homa (sacrifice for the planets) with the help of graha-samidha (Samidha - a kind of wood used for kindling sacrificial fire - acacia suma).

(Ahuti is to be offered to each planet, twelve times each).

3. If the tail of a cow is wrapped up or twisted with the peg, the stake or the post to which the cow is generally fastened, Siva Puja, Kali Sahasra Nam and Visnu Path is to be performed in one day itself.

4. If a cat cries out in the precincts of a house, do Kali Sahasra Nam Path and feed more than five people with rice in your house.

5. If an owl screeches in the campus of the house, the Mahamrityunjoi Puja is to be performed in the name of the head of the family on an auspicious date to be fixed after consulting Panjika and then the Mrityunjoi Kavacha is to be recited.

6. If the articles made of glass in the house happen to be frequently broken, you are to perform a Visnu homa (sacrifice) and to offer gifts of red clothes to three Purohits after performance.

7. If a crow or an owl pounces on hair of your head, then you are to take bath with water of the Ganges and then, offering oblation in a Visnu temple with frumenty (i.e.
Rice boiled in milk seasoned with sugar), recite the Aparajita stotra.
